That’s right!  Everyone’s favorite challenge begins tomorrow!  Choose your favorite way to plank:

Couples Pilates Equipment Circuit Class

Q. How long have you been practicing Pilates?

A. I have been working with Christina for 18 months.

Q. What is your favorite exercise?

A. I would say the Hundred and Planks.  I feel my core is stronger, and I do see results.


Q. What is your favorite piece of equipment?

A. The Reformer is my favorite, however, I’m very intrigued by the Cadillac.

Q. What other forms of exercise do you regularly participate in?

A. I walk my dog, Charlie every day. I do enjoy barre and yoga.

Q. Tell us about your family.

A. My husband, Greg, and I moved to Omaha about 9 years ago from Missouri.  We have two sons, Nathan and Justin.  We are blessed with two granddaughters, Coraline and Audrey.  We are anxiously waiting for a new grand-baby in early July.

Q. What is your favorite food?

A. My husband’s barbecue and fresh sushi always pared with nice glass of wine.

Q. How do you find time for Pilates?

A. I make Pilates a priority.  I attend classes 2-3 times a week.

Q. What do you think is the biggest benefit of doing Pilates?

A. Wow, I am amazed by Pilates! I have less back pain. I truly have found a workout that works best for me.  I can see me doing Pilates for life.

New Class – Cardio Blast: Interval Training on the Jump Board



New on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10am – Cardio Blast!  This class is a great way to get your cardio and your Pilates done in the same class.  Intervals of jumping on the Jump Board with Pilates Reformer exercises spaced between will give you more calorie burn as well as the strengthening, lengthening, and balance you get from a regular Pilates Reformer class.  Jumping on the Jump Board is low impact because you don’t have gravity pulling down on you.  Its fun, challenging and will make you sweat!  Sign up online.

January Challenge: 10 Day Sugar Detox


This month’s challenge is the 10 Day Sugar Detox.  This challenge began in 2014 with the release of the documentary Fed Up.  I highly recommend you watch this documentary as it is a real eye opener!  In it, the documentary exposes how the food industry has been adding sugars to our food which is one of the causes of our obesity epidemic.

The 10 Day Sugar Detox challenges you to go sugar free for 10 days!  Give up any food that has added sugar in it, and don’t add sweeteners (even artificial sweeteners) to the food you are eating.  Just eat real foods!  Start reading ingredient labels to see which foods have added sugar in them.  You will be amazed!  There is a long list of names for sugar that you will become familiar with during this process.

When doing this challenge, I ask myself, “Did God put the sugar that is in the food I am eating?”  An example of this would be fruit.  Fruit has sugar in it, but it is a natural sugar and not added.  If it is a natural sugar like that found in fruit, then you can eat it.  If it has been added by you or some other human being, then it’s off limits!
